Fibronectin Binding Domain

Fibronectin is a glycoprotein found in a cell's extracellular matrix. The glycoprotein plays a role in forming the matrix structure as well as in cell proliferation. Fibronectin has been found to interact with collagen and certain binding domains that promote aggregation of fibronectin [1]. The documented part is meant for insertion into the triple helical structure of Scl2 (Part BBa_K3833000) in order to allow for cell adhesion to hydrogels containing the Scl2. The fibronectin binding domain documented here is GLAGQRGIVGLPGQRGER.
